Just spent 30 minutes outside, alone, in the sun on my deck without worrying about the baby! It was HEAVENLY! For what seemed like hours it was just me, a gentle breeze, the warm sun on my face, & the birds rustling the leaves.
Thank you to my wonderful husband who agreed to stay inside and wait for the baby to wake up.
You can only relax so much when you are toting around a baby monitor ready to run at the slightest baby noise.
I can count on one hand the number of hours I have been away from my little man. I’m not trying to be a martyr here, I just didn’t want to give him a bottle after that episode at week 2 (read about it here & here). Some wounds heal with time and 3 weeks ago I pulled out a no-spill sippy cup, filled it with ma-moo and gave it a whirl. Guess what — it worked!!!! I had my doubts since it had been 5 months of only me. He loved to hold the handles and “drink” even if the first few tries got more on him than in his tummy.
All good things must come to an end & we will finish the day enjoying the sun together!
